Neighbors was one of the last Yiddish-language films made in Poland before the Nazi invasion of 1939.
Set in New York, the story concerns an ambitious young man who is willing to marry any woman, old or young, beautiful or homely, providing she comes with a dowry.
Meanwhile the hero's faithful sweetheart, a radio musician, waits at home in quiet desperation. Everything turns out okay during a masked ball, with the heroine claiming her man in spite of himself.
